A Tone Ink release, the Face Breaker is a fuzz distortion pedal that blends the sonic DNA of the circuits that shaped rock and classic metal in the late ’60s and ’70s.
Inspired by Hendrix, Page, Iommi, Gilmour, Clapton and iconic pedals like Fuzz Face, Tone Bender, Big Muff, and Dallas Rangemaster, the Face Breaker can be used as a treble booster, fuzz, classic distortion, or even a drive — always with a distinctly British flavor.

🎛️ Controls

🔘 Plexi Switch:
Defines the low-end body and the saturation of the circuit’s last transistor.

• Plexi: tighter and more focused tone.

• Super Bass: fatter and slightly “gated” feel.
  The Super Bass mode can compensate for the lower output of single-coil pickups.

🔘 Mid Switch:
Controls the Tone Stack curve.

• In Muff mode: behaves like the Ram’s Head ‘75 circuit, with an aggressive mid scoop, similar to classic Big Muffs.

• In Full mode: acts relatively flat, varying as a frequency “seesaw.”
  Clockwise rotation boosts highs and cuts mids/lows; counterclockwise does the opposite.
  This unique behavior delivers an uncommon range of tones.

🔘 PUNCH Switch (Face/Bender):
Engages a germanium transistor gain stage, adding harmonics and punch.
Switches between the Fuzz Face’s rounder character and the Tone Bender’s sharper, cutting tone.
With high-output pickups, some settings can even produce octave-like fuzz textures.

🔘 Gain Knob:
Highly responsive and tone-shaping:

• Near minimum: acts as a treble booster.

• Before noon: behaves like a fuzzy overdrive.

• After noon: adds distortion and body.

• Maxed out: creates a gated fuzz tone, common in vintage designs.
