The Rotten is the result of an extensive analysis of frequency curve patterns, gain/amplification rates, and voicing from three benchmark pedals among classic distortions: the RAT, OCD, and DRV (1981).
It delivers a warm drive, with prominent mids and rich harmonics. Its controls were designed to expand the tonal range of these legendary circuits while preserving their core character.
This has become our most refined and versatile design, covering everything from a dirty booster, to a defined low-gain overdrive, a thick distortion, a modern Plexi-style drive, or even a tight booster for high-gain amps.
